Washoe

Washoe Indians were a nomadic tribe whom lived in the Sierra Nevada Mountain and Great Basin areas. They moved seasonally due to food resources and now reside near Lake Tahoe as part of the Great Basin Indians.

Washoe basketry was very popular and gave rise to a movement some call "Washoe Fancy Basketry" and promoted the close-stitched degikup style.
